Announcement and call for papers of the 5th Annual Meeting of the Society for Bioacoustics, which is held on 8–9 December 2018 at Kumamoto University School of Medicine, is now uploaded. You can download the information  from here, as well as view the overview page in  the items about Annual Meetings in this website< http://bacoust.org/?page_id=1172>. 
The deadline of pre-registration and submission of the abstract for oral and poster presentations is October 10. We are looking forward to your attending and presenting at the coming meeting!

The deadline of abstract submission to the 4th annual meeting of the Society for Bioacoustics is the coming Friday, Oct 13. We are looking forward to have your submission. Detailed information and call for abstract of the 4th Annual Meeting of the Society for Bioacoustics, which is held on December 9-10 at the University of Electro-Communication in Tokyo, is now uploaded. The 3rd Annual Meeting of the Society for Bioacoustics had successfully finished.

The 3rd Annual Meeting of the Society for Bioacoustics had been held at Irago Resort and Spa in a beautiful landscape of Irago cape organized by Prof. Junsei Horikawa, and successfully finished. From the presentations, “Male jewel bugs localize female calling vibrations: directional vibration sensing by chordotonal organs” by Ms. Hiromi Mukai was chosen as the Most Outstanding Presentation Award, and “Finite-element model of human active cochlea: Short-time variation of DP components on the BM” by Ms. Sinyoung Lee was chosen as the Outstanding Presentation Award. The next annual meeting will be held at the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo organized by Prof. Takuji Koike from 9 to 10 in December 2017.

In addition to above reports, the recipients of award in the 2nd annual meeting held in the last year are also written below.
The Most Outstanding Presentation Award :
Nao Ota “Does tap dance contribute to producing louder sounds? The relationship between dance performance and sound amplitude in the courtship display of a socially monogamous songbird”
The Outstanding Presentation Award:
